I didn't know we were throwing out bands that we have met.
Some bands off the top of my head:
40 Below Summer.
American Head Charge. (met several times and hung out outside of shows. It helps that they were a local Minneapolis band)
Black Flood Diesel.
Bled,The.
Chimaira.
Dry Kill Logic.
Drowning Pool. (prior to Dave William's death)
Lollipop Lust Kill.
Meshuggah.
Mindless Self Indulgence.
Mudvayne.
Neurotica.
Norma Jean.
Nothingface.
Otep.
Ozzy. (was on his personal guest list when they played Grand Forks, ND back in '01)
Rob Zombie.

Dude, are you seriously this thickheaded? Not to mention two-sided...My whole point was that I had a point of reference to talk about the American nu-metal wave. In no means did I mention all bands I have met. That would be quite a long list.
And no, not just a "guitar solo". This was one example of what makes metal metal. Thats the beauty of metal...there is no way to define it.
Now, the next thing you are going to say is "Well, then, if there is no way to define it, how can you say L.O.G. is not metal". And to that I say...you are an idiot. There is no point in talking with you. Following that logic, you can call anything metal that you want. Pray tell me, what makes L.O.G. metal? Is it the screaming vocals? (Points to clean vocal metal groups such as Iron Maiden, Priest, Sonata Arctica) Is it the fast paced drums? (Points to slow, melodeath groups such as Agolloch, and groups which do not utilize drums to such a high extent such as Burzum, Warmen) Perhaps the fast paced guitar? (Points to groups that use slower guitars such as Nevermore, Opeth, Evergrey)
L.O.G. is a talented group, not metal. This same analogy can be applied to "rap" Can you call Soulja Boy rap, at the same time calling N.W.A. rap?

Completely and utterly OT: I am looking at your Halo 3 record (No offense, I'm not trying to dis you here) You die more then kill....How is that possible when you are so high ranked? I just started playing last month, played Halo 2 forever...Mine is more kills then deaths.... GT: nozynuts
I'm an old school thrasher, grew up on Slayer, Priest, Pantera, Megadeth, Metallica, Exodus ect.

Then what would you classify bands like Lamb of God? You do realize that there is about a million sub genres of metal right? Each one having its own version of what makes them metal. It doesn't make them more metal than any other band. Yes you might not be able to compare Soulja Boy to NWA but they both would be classified under the main genre of Rap. Yes so one band does scream, one band does, one band has a guitar solo, one band doesn't that doesn't make either of them more metal then the other. Solos aren't meant for every song or every band.
Since you seem to be "so smart" please classify Lamb of God.

Heh, DevilDriver...Dunno. I liked Coal Chamber, but can't get into DD. I mean, you can def. tell its Dez singing, but its just, seems all the same to me =\

I can't stand Devil Driver because of my hatred for Dez. He is the reason for Coal Chambers downfall and he can't write lyrics if his life depended on it.
