Sigh, does everything have to be a pissing contest? I have never had a 360 before. I just got one. I have never played Halo 3 before. I just got it. I was curious as to how the system worked.

Once again, does everything have to be a pissing contest? And no, I am not referring to just this thread.

I didn't know you were asking me how the system worked, I thought you were trying to prove a point. Halo 3's ranking system is more based on skill rather than experience. If the system thinks you are at a rank that you deserve to be at its a lot harder to go up. I have been stuck at 39 for ages because thats where it seems to think I should stay. If you search bungie.net they have a long article explaining the system.

rmorse, I've got over 8,000 records, there probably isn't a band you can name I haven't listened to - unless they've come out since the year 2000 or so...

Metal did die off, for a good long while - when Grundge came into the scene back in the early 90's.

It really didn't start to gain steam again until just recently when MTV decided it would be cool to follow Ozzy around while he was doped up on meds...

That's not to say that it DIED completely, but everything just went underground - now it's starting to come back into mainstream, which is a good thing. But it just fuels these debates.

Honestly, like I said, who the hell cares - if some one wants to run around screaming they're the biggest metal head in the world then let em'. If your life is that boring...well then sucks to be you.

I've had the pleasure of meeting and hanging out with some of the pioneers on several occassions throughout my life, and most of them are about as normal as a guy you'd meet at the liquor store - all of this crap they do on stage is an act, and kids eat it up like a fat chick digging into ho-ho's because it gives them somthing to do.

Ah. I see now. Just visited your myspace, and looked around at the songs you listen to, plus the overall top played groups. Lol, I'm done. No point in arguing with you, as I am arguing with another little emo....

hmm so you base your opinion on what all music I listen to. Could it be that I have a much wider range in musical taste than you? Ah yes. I am not a "purist" as you are. OH MAN Iced Earth is the best ****ing band on the planet and every other band is ****. Man your arrogance is HILARIOUS. I love how you can place a label on me just by a few of the top artist I listen to.

80'S through 90's killed Metal. Personally, almost all of the metal on my ipod is from 70s, early 80s, late 90s, early 2000. The "good ole days". I am well aware of the idea of playing it up on stage. I may be young (21), but I too have had the pleasure of hanging with some of the pioneers, most notably Cannibal Corpse. I am well aware that they are normal guys...My issue comes into play when I am lumped into a category. Although, I just did that exact same thing with gnome.... :irked:

And one last thing, I don't label myself. I listen to everything. Whether it be metal, punk, grunge, rock, hip hop, rap, emo, 80s, 90s, new wave. Its not the genre that I stick to its the love of music. If you stick to one genre of music, you are missing out on all the other talented artists out there.

How am I the arrogant one, when you come into this thread claiming that L.O.G. sucks? And how can you also claim that you have a much wider range, when you don't even know what I listen to? This is why this is pointless...We were talking about metal here. My apologies, I was not aware that I should talk about other musical styles...And actually, is was more the way you look, tbh....

Well, to be honest when I talk about the pioneers I'm talk'n about Dimebag, Anselmo, Halford, Mustaine, Araya, King ect.

Death metal's a whole different scene, and those guys are just as normal. Rutan from Morbid Angel actually took me out to Denny's for breakfast after one of the sets for the Reinventing The Steel Tour, I about crapped myself laughing when he opened the door for an old lady and gave her a big smile....

It's all just a joke dude...besides some of those crazy black metal guys from Norway - the stage stuff is just that.

If you let the personality's of the guys in the bands put a judgement on the bands themselves you'd probably end up hating everything under the sun, because most of them are reclusive dick heads.

Indeed. The norwegein black metalheads are quite possibly the only ones who actually practice what they preach. *cough* mayhem, burzum *cough*

Even a lot of those guys are an act - but there's a few who are nuts and make a living off it...whatever.

You mean b/c Varg Vikernus from Burzum is not in prison right now for murdering Euronyous from Mayhem, and then burning 3 churches? You mean he did not break out of prison, and held a family of 4 hostage?

You mean b/c Mayhems singer did not commit suicide on stage? I'm talking old school mayhem....
