You are absolutely right. That was not educational, smart, or human. It was cruel.
 
Its not Human(e), its a mouse. And it is cruel ... but thats because nature is cruel. Living things must die so other living things can keep on living. Bass eat mice that fall in lakes all the time. As far as feeding it to him in a home aquarium, its the same as feeding it feeder gold fish, other fish, or frogs, or ducklings (all living creatures).

You just need to make sure that the bass eats it and the food does not go to waste (in this case thats what appears to have happened so try to avoid that next time).

To the original poster of the video, you yourself are not being cruel thats just nature. Listen to everyone here who is saying just use smaller mice so the bass gets a good meal....but you are not cruel.......cool........but not cruel!!!
 
ight so its cruel to feed it a mouse mouse but not a pinky mouse lol your all crazy. i went to a difrent pet store today and they have pinkies for 1.99 but im broke. even if it didnt eat it i still got a kick out of watching it

That was pretty sweet to watch. What a crazy, savage fish!!!!! I can't wait until my LM are big enough to do that. I showed my brother in law that video...he loves the bass and he freaked out and was like I CAN'T WAIT!!!!! Keep taking good care of your fish.

Its funny I don't think anyone would think it was cruel if a small fish was fed to a big mouse...................anyway

how big are your lmb? mine was about 2inches when i first got it and had 3 of them with 2 pumpkin seeds. my pumpkin seeds died after like a week and would never take any kind of food i tried but all my bass would take pellets and worms with in the first few hours

Yeah my LMB are 5 inches and 2 inches, plus i have 2 Smallies that are 3 and 2 inches. These are all in just a 75 gallon so If I can't find a bigger tank within the next month. then I'm gonna have to down size the bass...es. I'm looking for a 250 to 300 gallon.

I also tried keeping Pumpkin seeds. I got them to eat worms, but they had to be very hungry. They wouldn't take them everyday. They died as well.

My bass still wont eat pellets but I really haven't forced it yet cause I love watching them eat the live food. As soon as this current batch of feeders is gone then I'm going to ween them onto pellets. What kind of pellets do you feed yours?

Let us discuss feeding our bass and keep your "we need to treat rodents like humans" to yourselfs. Start a new thread about it.
