Keep in mind that polarity does matter on an LED...its not a light bulb. The shorter lead is the negative and the negative also has a flat side on the LED.

try looking at wal mart and meijer in the automotive section, they have inexpensive led kits. you'll find them with the air fresheners, steering wheel and seat covers etc....
they are supposed to be for decorating the inside of your car

then go to the electronics section and get a ac-dc converter
I've done that too with stuff i have laying around.

No wiring up necessary, besides cutting the ciggy lighter connection off and wiring on the 12v dc transformer. I did this for my tank, works great

i like the spotting effect that the leds give, i angled them differently so there are areas of more consentrated light.

just cover all your connections, and dont plug it in until you do! im sure you can do it just fine
