how are we trying to screw the buyer? the fish obviously died in his hands, and he obviously saw it swimming around fine and healthy because he wouldnt have bought it otherwise. if the fish was shipped, then that's a different scenario.
i dont see why the seller should have to eat any of the cost. what's the point of trying to sell a fish then? might as well start giving our fish away if we're gonna start giving refunds when the buyer kills the fish.
this isnt Petsmart we talking about with their 14 day guarantee. and because fish are sensitive to their environment (water) there are way too many variables. thats why any real LFS gives you NO guarantee whatsoever; they have no control over the water in your tank and how you acclimate the fish. petsmart is a corporate giant that can absorb the losses and therefore can market to people have no idea how to keep a fish alive.
