Life is what you make it - Oedipus would not agree with life being fair.

Fair? No...but was it ever meant to be? Think about primitive times, survival of the fittest. Its not supposed to be fair, its the strong on top.

Everyone should have an open mind IMO, as i'm sure we all say "its not fair" at some point in our lives. I dunno, maybe you have to realize what others don't have. Maybe those in third world countries are saying the same thing about us. When its not their fault they were born into that, it just happened.

couldnt agree more. as an aexample life really isnt fair for the single mother struggling with 3 kids who works three jobs in order to pay her own way so she doesnt get labelled and her kids bullied but still finds time to go to the kids football match on a saturday morning. then you get a rapist who is in prison and he wins the lottery.

For those that believe it is so fair PLEASE explain loved ones being delt death in a slow suffering manner. Did we do something to deserve that? That's "fair"?

Life is completely fair.

Whether you are born with a silver spoon in your mouth or you're born on the side of the street, blind and without a family, it is all done completely random.

There is no supernatural being up there dictating "Okay, so George will be the Good-looking heir to a fortune" or "Betty will be born without arms or legs to a struggling family". There is nothing/nobody saying who will be what.

If we all have the same shot to be good or bad, and to work to make our way to the top and it is all random, then it can't be anything but fair.

Thats the way i see things at least.

Logic of things is so baffling... and there are so many more examples that leave me overwhelmed because fair is not even in the spectrum...

i watched both my parents die from cancer at a young age.... raised myself since the age of 14.... have been homeless and hungry.... yes i think life is fair..... but only to those who choose not to be a victim.... choice is everything!!! that is what i mean by "fair" not material, physical, external influences...... choice to learn and grow is something we all get..... some just get more opportunity grow.....

i think learning the hard way is the best way to appreciate yourself and how far you have come.... and it gives you strength.... and wisdom along the way.. you have every right to feel proud of yourself...
