I keep lots of stuff aside from Gar..Gar are just my personal favorite and the fish I spend a great deal of time and effort on.. My first fish was a Longnosed Gar and I've always keep and researched gar since.

I have been working with many other species for many years now including Lampreys, Polypterids, lungfishes, Sturgeons, Killifishes, Livebearers and Trichomycterid (Candiru) Catfish..As well as Native NA Cyprinids which are second to Gar in my interest.. I have been working with Phoxinus and Clinostomus Dace species and various Notropis shiners for over a decade now...and no these are not feeders...

I also work with several Native NA herps and in the past specialized in Chameleons, Monitors and Venomous snakes in the genus Crotalus and Sisterus.. I'm currently working on several biogeography and natural history projects working with Necturus (Mudpuppies) as well as Abystomid salamanders professionally.

I think I should however change Breeding pair of P.delhezi to something like...
Two attracted to each other and interested in a hook up fish...They are regularly showing courtship behavior and we will see in time as they mature just how well this will work out. In the past I have spawned P. ornatipinnis, P.palmas polli and P. senagalus.. Never tried P. delhezi and this is my first crack at it. We will know this winter if all goes well with these two...

right on man! i have also done a lot of work with rattlesnakes...as we have previously discussed. what type of work have you done with them in the past. they are truly an awesome animal!

i guess this is a little off topic...sorry. pm me if you want to avoid further derail.

My topic so I chose Derails :P

I've worked mostly on biogeography and captive husbandry techniques with Crotalus.. Timbers especially as you know are one of my specialties but also Sisturus such as Massasauga and Carolina pygmies.. Massasauga are of particular interest due to them being a Native Michigan species. Timbers..Well hell they are just too damn cool to not work with them...

i would have to say that the timber rattler is my favorite snake! i havent had the chance to work with many other venomous snakes, but we'll see what the future holds. massaugas are also a native to PA were i did my previous work, but i never had the chance to work with them...just too damn rare there. i have much on my "to do" list, but no time to do it in. :nilly:

my favorite venomous snake would probobly be the black mamba. and non-venomous is the reticulated python. for the fact that they are huge. wow i feel dumb now cuz we are talking about snakes and i dont know that much about them.

snaaayyykes are the shiz
pythons and boas do it for me most, but colubrids are awesome too.
just saw the albino goldenchild retic a couple hours ago, a [almost] solid orange snake...:drool:
