didn't you have a thread where you mentioned something about selling a arapaima and replyed with something along the lines of "whatever my friend still got the money" when asked about the tank size of the buyer? you are so hypocritical

Good point. Deserves an answer.

oooh the plot thickens...

I'm 15 and I have had aquariums for the past 4 years but only started dedicating myself to the hobby about 3 years ago and before I get any fish I read the maximum information about them and usually talk to experts like most members of MFK about certain fish before I buy them. I manage to have large fish like arowanas, chitala chitala, gars etc because I have large tanks. I know that most kids buy animals and then neglect them I have some friends like that but I don´t criticize them I simply teach them. I also keep Pardalis Tortoises 2 females and 1 male for 3 years already and had no problems with them and this year I bought my group of sulcata. Im able to have these large tortoises because I know I have space to keep them, it´s not only kids that buy animals which they can´t house them lots of adults do to.

I agree a kid will always be a kid by law, but i've met plenty of young keepers with a hell of a lot more knowledge about fish at 13 then a lot of LFS' are with scientific names and all...

So i would say if there had to be a law, i would say its to prove you can adequately house whatever large monster it is you're buying but even thats pushing it IMO...

Im 16 in 1 month but if you consider that a kid then ok... I got a job permit at 15 and 2 months... And IMO anyone who actually has a job and gets income is not really considered a kid...

dude enjoy being a kid, i started working when i was 15 and it sucked im now 18 ( and im still a kid) but now i have to pay for an apartment, go to school, work and feed and take care of my pets......so just because you got a job dosent mean you not a kid anymore it just means you got more responsabilities

When I was 9 I breed my first pair of betta. At 14 I jumped into FH, my first Flowerhorn lived in a 55 gallon, when I turned 15 I had my first Arowana (jardini) in a 90 gallons (Sold at 16"), and now I am 17 and I have a 360 gallon with water clean enough to drink. I've had every Arowana except a Black aro and an araprima. I am not showing off I am just trying to say I am young and I consider myself a kid, but I understand keeping fish is a huge responsibility. I am not rich, and paid for almost every fish I own, along with the equipment. I have had fish die, but I am sure that's everyone.

Adults impulse buy fish all the time. Anyone can be ignorant.

are you going to reply to this furious fish?

Ok Then. That is your opinion and I respect it... But,what you are saying is a 18 year old is still a "kid"?

I'm 46 and in certain circles I'm still referred to and called the kid. Funny thing is when I was in my late teens early twenties this bothered me. Now I know better, I enjoy being the kid every chance I get. You have the rest of your life to be an adult, a man. Enjoy it while you can.

Yes I sure am, that is my friend and HIS fish. Not mine. I could not stop that transaction. His choice. But like I said some "kids" make bad choices. And since you guys will consider a 17 year old who co owns a reptile breeding facility then he is a kid.
And you blew what I said outta context. He turned down a few buyers that had less then a 5k and i said at least he got money cuz somebody was saying he shpulda sold it for more. BLOWN OUTTA CONTEXT! Then you post here to simply derail me? Respectfully, go away. I dislike you because you tried to make me look bad.
