Logging the pond and it's inhabitants

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I hadn't fed them ghost shrimp for a while, no stocks for a while due to summer, they got super worms and fish fillet.

No ideas what couldve happened, must've died on Saturday, as the body was still firm and hadn't rotted yet.

For sure just about all of us have had some unexplainable/mystery death of a fish at one time or another -- frustrating because you don't know what you can learn from it.

But personally I think the dog did it.

Lol, I am sure the dogs innocent, even though he looks vicious and is loud, he is just too much of a wuss

This Sunday was quite an eventful day for all the arowana that I had. I woke up to 2 big boxes arrive home.

Baby albino silver arowana

So I shall start with having a look at the new fish.

Here's a small video, them being acclimatized and then after being released in their tank.

Today morning saw them eat some baby mealworms and some sun dried gammarus.

The next order of business was to move the 24k to the pond.

Catching him was pretty much without an event, reduced 4" of water, put a bag in the tank and didn't even have to herd him into the bag.

Floated the bag in the pond for some time, added some water from the pond into the bag a few times between 5-10 minute intervals. And then released it

Here's an underwater video of releasing the aro .

Next was adding something to the tank where the 24k xback was.
So moved the indo super red to a bigger tank. And here's a video of that .

And since this was a day with so many aris, had to do a pond feeding underwater video.

So after almost a month, here's an update.

They're looking pretty content in their nice home, seem to be growing pretty fast too if my estimation/eyesight is correct.
Thanks,
The biggest silver arowana might be 18-20"
The biggest Asian arowana might be 16-18"

I feed them only on alternate days, and the highback and first batch of silver arowana are more than an year old.

Haven't updated you all about the albino silver arowana babies that I got.

Well I got 6 of them, and right after I got them I got a bit busy, and wasn't paying much attention at the fishroom, lost two to conspecific aggression.

Now I have separated them.

Here's a video of the biggest fella eating baby morio worms
