I bet that regiment will help out alot, Okay but if your pleco starts doing his Jaws routine again I warned you! Hee he he, I gotta give you a hard time about that but in all seriousness I hope the water changes help clear everything up.
Well thanks and I have excellent news. I did my normal 20 gallon water change yesterday and added in the stuff. I just tested it and it is down to 0! I'm surprised it happened so fast :D YAY!!

Went and got a lid today at pet traders, I am always amazed what they have there.
I thought I would have a hard time finding lids because the tank is a 50 gallon wide.
Got 2 lids for $12 each because they were 'used'. Pretty damn clean if you ask me.
All I need is a filter now.
As for 'cycling' I plan on buying a box of biomax, split it in half, put one half in the new filter and take half of the biomax of my 100gal's filter.
I will let the new water sit for a couple days before doing that.
Awesome!!! Congradulations you sure cant beat that price, I envy you!

Fantastic, wow looks like its been a good day for almost everbody! I also looks like Jaws (that is his name isnt it?) and the Bluegill still have a home! I cant wait until I get time to find a bigger home to buy and move into,..... I really want a bigger tank than the 39g I have, if you put any big fish in them (over 6inches) it seems impossible to keep clean!

Well no not Jaws but that is a good name, his name is actually Eclipse and for now I'll be keeping the bluegill. Having big tanks is fun. It gives me a sense of pride and satisfaction owning them but in my case it is hard keeping the 75 clean. I thought it would be better, but I blame the sand and goldfish lol :D

Lol, Eclipse it is; Im glad your keeping the Bluegill I love sunfish, they remind me so much of Cichlids. I am actually going to move so I can get some bigger tanks, my goal is to have one native coldwater ecosystem tank, and one temperate Native tank. I would like the coldwater to have darters and minnows in a 125g and the temperate to have Sunfish, small bullheads or big madtoms, and some big shiners (golden or common) in a 250g, and them use my 39g for a quarantine or hospital tank......at least thats my dream.

Okay, so now for the tanks substrate and structure.
I was told that Long ears prefer substrate is small, rounded pebbles (river stone) and that I should provide drift wood.
Thats true, the area Ive seen them in is smooth pebbled creek and in areas over a hard clay and sand. They like driftwood and ive seen them in creek holes this is where they would make theyre nests about a foot or two away from the plants and bank over the semi hard red clay bottom. In my area I believe they hybridize with Bluegill from a nearby lake that the stream runs into. The hybrids are not as pretty as the plain Bluegill or the plain Central longear and come in some strange patterns. I hope this helps I am not an, expert just an enthusiast.
