dude...no1s asked me to detail stuff just as rough idea so if someone DOES ask for detailed stuffv i can answer it -_-...

What do you call this: (Sorry It is not in illiterate text speak)
At what stage does piscivorous activity begin in Lepisosteus osseus? and when is it that you should change the captive diet in Juveniles to reflect the added nutritional need? What is the best dietary intake in relation to weight for a Juvenile L. Osseus under 5 inches?

This is not a "rough Idea" question about these fish, this is essential care for them. These are the types of things that anyone raising these fish needs to know..

I'm Waiting for an answer......
And do give me another "Me keep gar and make them grow" response....

Marine biology is just working with Marine or brackish organism biology..
ichthyology is the study of fish in general and can be a part of A marine biologists job but then so can Krill and whales....

Someone that studies Freshwater biology is a freshwater biologist. Same thing.. it could mean studying algae or Sturgeon.. The "ologies" are just subsections of specialization with in each..

Not to derail this highly educational thread, :D but do platyrhincus need to have their diet changed also as they get bigger?

They need a varied diet just like any fish. Singular items consistently should be avoided if you can.. Older fish as a rule are much more forgiving of dietary inadequacy then Very young Juveniles which are still developing.

The diet and nutritional intake thing is more specific to raising very small gars and a bit specific to a certain morphologic / physiologic changes that occurs in gars within the first month and a half of hatching.....

but then we shall let the local "wealth of knowledge" here Gar man can give you that info. He knows all about this... ;)
