I appreciate people trying to give me helpful advice but I've been fighting this since October so I've had a lot of time to research different ways to go after Aquart. Thanks to those who have already volunteered to help me out! Please keep the PMs coming. The more the better.

How did you pay AA? Was it with a check? So what you're saying here you sent them $2800, and you're getting nothing in return? Did you cancel the order of the tank? I live in Columbus, Ohio where AA is located, I've known lets call him RG for several years (not on a personal level, and know nothing of his business practices). I used to visit his shop fairly frequent many years ago, and was talking with him recently. I ended up buying a 110 off of one of his cohorts, who couldn't of been more fair and kind. Is there anything that you're seeking besides the $2800 back? I'm just trying to get a feel for the full story.....

Yes I paid the 2862.50 deposit with a check and yes I got nothing in return except a lot of excuses. The tank was actually made by a different company and Aquart was the middleman. I was led to believe that Aquart was making the tank and didn't learn until later that they sub-out the work. My deposit was never transferred to the actual tank maker but the tank was made and sat in a warehouse for months. Aquart's employee apparently was lying to everyone involved and according to the owner of Aquart(Rich Gould) stole the money. The owner broke this news to me with a phone call. He suggested I purchase the tank directly from the maker since it was just sitting in a warehouse and he would start paying me $500 a month to reimburse me. He made a few more excuses after that and then finally stopped returning my calls. My check was made out to Aquart (Rich Gould) and cashed by Rich. He kept $125 for himself (per one of his e-mails he sent me) and gave the balance to his employee 2 weeks later to send to the tank maker. The money never made it. Rich now denies any responsibility even though he is the owner of the company.

All I am asking for is my money back.

You need a fat italian guy to collect. They say things like "break your legs.". I am sorry for your loss. I wish I was a portly Italian that lives in your area.
 
I've decided to increase my donation to MFK to $1000.oo if we are successful in getting Aquart to return my money. Long live MFK :headbang2

Good point. I don't want anyone to do anything that would make MFK look bad. Keep everything legal but don't hold back on telling your fellow fishkeepers about how Aquart treats its customers.
