I know, i am suprised. i have avoided commenting back to anyone as i know there are memebers that feel quite strongly about this. Yes there are valide points on both sides. Its a shame really as i thought a picture of the "tube" would end all arguement. Dispite what people think, i also hate asking the same question again and again, and have i stated before, we have 2 main LFS in the area, never before have i seen a calico and once its parents are sold i imagine it will be sometime before i seen another. I dont enjoy being annoying and i dont enjoy being the "sigh" of most of you, but pleased understand it from my point of view, all i want to know is a simple sex of a convict, some say 100% male, some say 100% female, some dont claim to know either way, all claim to have kept them before, the joke is, iv kept oscars, flowerhorns, syspilum, jags the lot and NEVER have i had such a headache off such a simple fish. If the LFS had them reguarally i would happily shut up wait and see, but time where this is concerned isnt much of a option.
I respect everyones opinion, and everyones arguement.
I have almost given into the fact that the only way ill ever find out for sure is to try and pair it, which i am unwilling to do. I just think its a real shame as i am a nice person, but because of a divided opinion, i feel frustrated and as a result i look a fool.
And i did do research and youtubed video's theres a handful of females without orange and i hate to say it, but that pipe points down, but curves backward, if someone would care to explain to me if down is female or backwards is male? or do they curve backwards? this bit i dont understand.
the picture of the convict above me, the tube on yours is very fat, from the same distance, mine is a spike, in a recent thread called convicts, all the males have tubes showing. my guess is as mine as other cichlid tankmates it may be "aroused" by one of them (to lighten the mood on here) thought none of which are at breeding age.
