Thanx again, im gonna show it to my mom too, i phoned her earlier about it all and she seemed pretty ok about it, she understood that the snake as scared.w

Didn't think about examinations. What I did think is that, how the hell did the guy managed to allow the boa to strengthen its grip on him without requesting, it's this kind of suicidal, egoistic (based on inference) monkey that brings all of you good hobbyists down.

I don't think that a Red tailed Boa (even a big one) could have the strength to wrap around and choke you with out you being able to unwrap it, especially in this case where there WERE other people around. It makes me wonder if the guy had any other conditions that led to this, maybe asthma or something that would have made it difficult for the guy to breath anyways? Just a theory but this story seems suspect to me since from what I could gather from the story, his roommate, roommate's girlfriend, and sister were all there when it happened.

Were drugs involved? how come nobody pulled the snake off him?

With bloodflow to the brain blocked, it takes 15 SECONDS to lose consciousness and death occurs shortly after. Scientific fact.

it would take several minutes for the snake to suffocate a full grown person though and what about the other people? why would they not have helped?

No sir. The snake got around the victims neck. IF blood flow was cut off (Not necessarily airflow) the guy could have dropped dead in under THIRTY SECONDS. That's all it takes.

couldn't the friend and or sister get the snake unwrapped before it caused the mans death... or is it that fast?

Obviously there is a lot of missing info regarding this story and it sure does sound strange that nobody helped out but the fact is if the airway is blocked, the guy can't speak-he can't even gasp for air, and if the arteries that run down the side of your neck ar squeezed shut, death can occur in as little as 30 seconds. The guy could have hit the floor in as little as 10-15 seconds.

If what she is looking for through you is validation for the pet, just keep a couple of quick and easy statistics on the forefront of you mind when dealing with her.

About 200 people die every year (in the US at least) from all of the combined animal attacks, wild and otherwise.

As of 2004, 3,308 people died of drowning.

That's right. What I'm telling you is, more people screw up drinking water than succumbing to strangulation via boa.
