Man killed by pet boa :/

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Well apparently, despite your numerical instances of pulling your constrictors off your various appendages and what so ever, it is not suggested. The guy was probably in an unsuitable state of handling the snake, and the people around him were likely as unsuitable to figure what to do. Either way, the media wishes to potray our nice little (well, not really) friends as strangulating murderers who can kill their owners and thus everyone else at will. Well done, no life press.

If what she is looking for through you is validation for the pet, just keep a couple of quick and easy statistics on the forefront of you mind when dealing with her.

About 200 people die every year (in the US at least) from all of the combined animal attacks, wild and otherwise.

As of 2004, 3,308 people died of drowning.

That's right. What I'm telling you is, more people screw up drinking water than succumbing to strangulation via boa.
That is a good point!

My dad sent me the article. I smell a rat. No way a healthy adult man, in a competent state, was constricted by a 9 foot Boa. I mean, I have seen countless of videos of people pulling large biting Boiids off them, which should stop the sconstricting, right? The guy was probably under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time... Don't worry Brucey, you keep doing your thing. You're responsibe with your Boa.
Thanx dude!

has anybody seen the pics of this monster? its a big boy

i was talking to my mate yest about it coz i think just about everyone i knew i called me, and i just said to her, "what do i tell u if and anyone else thats around me when i handle him"
and she said "if he constricts then pull off tail first"

point proven, there was more to it than what they r saying, no way would u just sit there and watch someone die....theres a reason i dont handle my snakes when iv had a drink or anyone else has, coz u shouting "ok i think hes getting a bit tight now" everyone will just laugh or be too pissed to help u.

haha, typical news media

anything is possible with big snakes. u just have to respect them. and yes a 8 or 9 ft boa could kill a person within seconds like someone said if it cuts the blood flow off it could happen. yes they constrict on exhale but if it is spooked bad enough instant lock down.

I recon he wasnt in a suitable state i know it doesnt take long for death but people who keep these big snakes should have an idea what to do in this situation.

precisely, ur idiot enough to handle when ur not "all there" then u dont handle at all.
