Well don't be stingy! Post em up! Didn't you end up with some JimR genes in your tank too?

I still think we need a Marble pageant thread. Just to see pics of all the top shelf Marbles in one thread would give us all something to drool over for a long time..... Don't even know if it would be possible to pick a winner, different strokes for different folks, everyone's idea of beauty is different. WAIT! A calender:WHOA: Someone needs to make this happen. Maybe the 52 weeks of Marblism since we all know there's way more then just 12 beauties out there.

I am no sure where mine came from. I think they came from jeff rapps, but i did not get them directly from him so who know. I will be at a wrestling tournament all day today. I will try to get some pics tomorrow.

A marble calender would be nice. Count me in for one when someone puts it together:D

i would fork out $350-$400 for a cb pup.not much more as you dont know what youre gonna get, buts that part of the fun,and risk.so maybe $100 more than a wc as less risk for parasites and stuff.but for a stunner marble thats 12inch plus the skys the limit.ive seen some marbles on here than i would trade my leo and then some for.i have a marble in my pond that i would charge more than my leo for.thats how much i love marbles.but like a lot of people have said it all depends on the marble.marbles have so much variety in there looks and quality.some marbles on here shouldnt be sold for anymore than $200-$250 and others i dont think its its unrealistic to ask up to $1200-$1500 for.but marbles and pearls are my favorite.i would take a stunner marble over a black ray anyday.i know some people will disagree with me when i say this, including my wife who is the only reason we own a leo,but i think some of the appeal to black rays is the price, its almost like an elite club or something when you own one.dont get me wrong theyre awesome fish and i see the appeal but theyre not 4-5xs nicer than a marble.pearls on the other hand.....debatable.theyre alot like marbles and you dont know what youre gonna get.these are all just my opinions tho.

I knew I wasn't the only one over here that felt this way. Different strokes for different folks! Some people like blondes, some red heads, some burnette. Rays are no different. Some like the Black rays, some Flowers/Tiggers, some Marbles. I too would take a super high grade Marble over a black ray or Pearl. What ever floats your boat right? Marblism is rare. I'm glad I'm not the only one infected!! :). Can't wait to see what the future holds a few years out once some of us with the sickness start getting these things producing, and we start swapping pups to keep clean genes... Things will be intresting. ;)

HA HA!...Marblism? i didnt realise i had it,i knew i had an acute case of something of which im quite sure there is no known cure, just goes to show there are some infectious diseases you can actually enjoy!!!!!
Love it DB,Marblism....LOL!!
On a more serious note i can understand the people that have reservations about spending their hard earned cash on a fish that wont live upto their expectations and lets face it many Marbles dont, however its a pretty safe bet that your going to get quality pups from a special pair......my pups for instance are showing the potential to be even better than their parents,as most of you know my adults are longterm captives of many years but their patterns are as strong as ever.More scientific work needs doing on these very variable rays, for instance are these top quality Marbles we see on here the same ray as these Marbles that look very nice upto 12 inches disc but then fade away, there are significant differences here.No way can there be a set price for these rays across the board.....unfortunately this seems the case especially in the UK,you guys in the US and Asia certainly appreciate these beautiful fish the most.

Just to keep this interesting thread alive and to give my support to DB And Marblism ive attached a few pictures of my AAA pups....plus one of my others thats approaching a couple of years old.I hope to be able to post some new borns in the next couple of weeks ...fingers crossed!

Here goes.

Wow.

Do you have any pics of your parent rays when they were young? I'd love to see how they progressed. It would be crazy to see them in pics that are the same age as some of the pups.

Have your parents ever produced an "ugly duckling" that you think will turn out to have a less desirable pattern then the parents?

Are your parent rays breeding 3 times a year?

Thanks DB.
No ugly ducklings yet but a couple of late developers that im sure will come good.......8 out of ten looked as good as the pups pictures, hopefully 3 to four more in the coming days will be born,i can post the pictures on this thread so long as thats ok.
Yes the parents breed 3 times per year.
Sorry no pictures of the parents when i got them, had no reason to take any,i wasnt even using a computer when i got them......didnt know what button to press to fire one up...lol!!!
What i can remember is walking into this guys house some 10 maybe 12 years ago and seeing these rays for the first time,i suspect the disc size was no bigger than 20cm.....my jaw dropped to the floor !!!!!....im still as blown away by them today as i was then, like already mentioned true quality Marbles retain their pattern.....i would go as far as to say my male just gets better.....here he is,took this picture this week......not bad for 12 years is he?.......hes the one in avatar also.

Stunning Aquaman.

These rays are even more impressive in the flesh.

You have to agree that these rays are certainly worth as much as pearl...even more in my opinion.

YUM!!!

When it comes to marble pups, ya simply gotta trust the seller....
