When it comes to marble pups, ya simply gotta trust the seller....

I agree with you J. but like DB said its hard sometimes to know if you might get an uglee duckling even if parents are nice....

Fantastic thread, really enjoying it !! I have 3 pairs of marbles 1 pair being a female pup from Richard and a w/c male from him. She is very young and small but will see if I can get some pics of her and the old man. My cb female takes some beating though we will see if the AAA can beat her looks LOL

Did I say that? I'm a firm believer that more then likely the pups are gonna be just as nice, if not nicer then the parents......

If there's some ugly ducklings out there I'd love to see them....

I'd much rather pay extra $ to see parents of a captive bred pup. WCs are a gamble, don't really see the gamble in CBs.

And another thing..... Where did that Marble in your avatar come from? Who's is it? I've always wondered that.

No ugly ducklings yet but a couple of late developers that im sure will come good.......8 out of ten looked as good as the pups pictures,hopefully 3 to four more in the coming days will be born,i can post the pictures on this thread so long as thats ok.

Are you kiddin me? It would be an honor sir. We all know you may as well be the godfather of Marbles. Someone says AAA Marble and Richard is the first name that pops into 95% of MFKers minds. You set the bar so high that some of us are gonna go broke trying to get some pups worthy enough to not stick out like an ugly duckling when pics are posted in the same thread as yours.

I'd like to know more about your water parameters.... Do you use straight tap water? Or tap/RO mix? What are the parameters? PH, KH, total alkalinity? In your opinion is it best for breeding to just pair rays of or keep them in a large group?

Where would you draw the line on Marble pricing? How much is too much for ANY Marble in the country? Would you pay 4 digits? More? I know it depends on the ray but think about the one you think is the nicest in the country, what would you pay for it?

my local "big als" shop sells marbles for 999 !!!!

i would fork out $350-$400 for a cb pup.not much more as you dont know what youre gonna get,buts that part of the fun,and risk.so maybe $100 more than a wc as less risk for parasites and stuff.but for a stunner marble thats 12inch plus the skys the limit.ive seen some marbles on here than i would trade my leo and then some for.i have a marble in my pond that i would charge more than my leo for.thats how much i love marbles.but like a lot of people have said it all depends on the marble.marbles have so much variety in there looks and quality.some marbles on here shouldnt be sold for anymore than $200-$250 and others i dont think its its unrealistic to ask up to $1200-$1500 for.but marbles and pearls are my favorite.i would take a stunner marble over a black ray anyday.i know some people will disagree with me when i say this,including my wife who is the only reason we own a leo,but i think some of the appeal to black rays is the price,its almost like an elite club or something when you own one.dont get me wrong theyre awesome fish and i see the appeal but theyre not 4-5xs nicer than a marble.pearls on the other hand.....debatable.theyre alot like marbles and you dont know what youre gonna get.these are all just my opinions tho.
