Hahahaha I got my mom into it and my friends lol. I started basically all 80's metal stuff like that and just progressed with different types of metal when started playing guitar 10 years ago when I was 6 so.....

That's awesome. I pretty much lack all skill required for instruments so I do vocals. More into the death and black metal styling of vocals but when the high pitched stuff is done right (Halford and dude from 3 Inches of Blood) it is just frigging amazing.

Friend of mine has a metal record store and throws concerts, usually every week, so I go and record them. Free concert, free booze, fun times :headbang2 Couple of big festival type shows coming up soon. August 24th there's a show called Gore Stock, going to be 13 local metal bands, and then oct 27 there's 14 metal bands coming down for Bloodfest, mostly local, 1 from Montreal and another from Detroit.

A couple of new bands I just found out about a couple weeks ago include
Knights of the Abyss Check out the song Hadlock..."it's clearly BREE time baby" :headbang2 :headbang2

Annotations of an Autopsy Welcome to Sludge City is just awesome. Great grind band

Also for those of you who are fans of the band Aborted, Sven the vocalist has done some songs w/ another band called WhoreCore

Sounds awesome man and the concerts will be insane lol. We have those sorts on things around here. Usually they are done as contests though to see who is starting for the big bands that come around. My friend just opened for Black Label Society and Symphony X. His band is called Myopia. It's an AWESOME power metal band. If you have heard of Sonata Arctica that's who they sound like.

Opening for BLS would be pretty damn fun. The stories Zack could share about Dime would be amazing I'm sure. I've heard of Sonata, not sure if I've actually heard their music before though. So much out there hard to keep track of what's been listened to and what's been put on the back burner for a later day.

I've got some Cryonic playing right now. Another power metal band I guess they could be called. Trying to find songs to sing along with, just did Through the Fire and Flames by Dragonforce and wow I can't get that high lol. Same w/ Cradle of Filth's Her Ghost in the Fog, luckily that has a couple of "growly" bits to help sooth my throat from the high pitches haha

Haha, I suck at playing instruments, I meen I have two guitars, but I completely suck at playing. My friends tell me I'm pretty good at vocals though, so when we decide to start a Band I get to be lead vocals. :headbang2

I find vocals to be much more fun. I've tried guitar, didn't care for it, although I LOVE Guitar Hero (it's easier than real thing:ROFL:) I'm messing around (poorly) w/ a bass currently but that's just to get a feel for a beat to work with while writing lyrics:headbang2

Here's some PSYCROPTIC I LOVE THIS SONG!!! :headbang2 :headbang2 :headbang2 :headbang2

When I got my first guitar, I tried taking lessons but I wasnt into som cooky old dude trying to teach me how to play guitar. Even if that cooky old dude taught curt kobain how to play guitar, he wasnt doing much for me.

Now I just mess around with them, I cant play anything though.

I can do some pretty good vocals if i have time to warm up though.

If he taught Kurt how to play he wasn't very good :headshake

Yeah If he taught Kurt how to play he must suck lol. I have always been around Music and Fish lol. So guitar came naturally to me. All my sisters( 3 of them) play, Mom, Dad and my AMAZING UNCLE Steven.

At first he was trying to teach me Jazz and crap, Jingle bells and other retarded stuff. I was like "Dude, I dont want to play Jazz. I want to Play Metal!" so next week I quit lessons.

I'm a much better vocalist anyways.

Also, I downloaded Elvenpath, its alright. But I prefer Agressive metal. It was to melodic for me. I like fast guitars, powerfull drums, and growling vocals.

Anybody know agood song thats super agressive? I need to get pumped. :headbang2
