Ummm no.... that is not a good idea as it then spreads them and opens transportation of them.
 
Problem is that there is more than one sources of Round Gobies... Turkey and Russia come to mind.

Won't work. Someone out there somewhere would release the gobies they got and only make matters worse, spreading the fish to other places. This is why snakeheads are now illegal, because a handful of people decided to release them into the wild rather then just keep them in aquaria or kill them. I understand where you're coming from, if you create demand for the fish the population will be reduced. This method works in some cases but likely would make things worse in this one. It's best just to keep the population isolated and kill any that you come across.

i dont think many people know Just how many
Gobies are really in the great lakes lol
there is alot
and it is a promblem now because all the bass and game fish love eating them and the gobies eats the old fish the game fish feed on so if we get rid of we will lose alot more fish than planed

is there more than just the Tubenose goby and round goby?

Hopefully not, I think he's talking about in terms of numbers and not species.

Getting rid of the gobies won't upset the ecosystem, it managed before they were introduced and it can manage without them.
