or .. how about we assume the biggest im going to get is 180 gallons .. what big predators can i get? i dont really want smallerr birchirs or anything that only gets 9 or 10 inchs ..
You know what, forget what I said earlier. Don't bother buying anymore fish. The more I read your posts the more I realize you will be disappointed with whatever fish you get. Just get a Pit Bull, teach him to be mean and then you can throw scraps of meat to him and impress your bros with how badass you are.

I'd suggest some ornates or endlicheri's.

RTC and TSN's as well as ID's grow fast... you'll need big tanks...

A 180 Gal is a nice big tank...

You could fit a pair of Most large agressive Cichlids... Such as Parachromis or Amphilophus or Festae...

You could do a handful of slightly smaller or less aggressive Cichlids, possibly having female Amphilophus or Parachromis species on that list...

Or you could do a ton of smaller growing CIchlids such as Firemouths, Geos and things like that...

I'm not much of a Catfish guy myself, but I'm sure there are a few species that top out in the 9~18" range that would work, depending on the tankmates you wanted them to live with...

The Oscar seems to be growing right on track, best of luck with him/her...

k .. moving on. you guys should read .. biggest pet peeve online are the morons who read the topic then reply without reading the 4 pages of comments after it .. anyways. what big monsters can i stick in say a 180 or maybeeee even a 240 if something that big was to come along. and i'm sorry i grew up all my life catching fish and killing instantly .. i was probably 15 before i realized there was such thing as ppl that catch and release. i love keeping and watching fish but consider them far from people. .. i would like ym fish to be a bit comfortable but unfortunitly for most of u that dont like hearing it .. im in this hobby for me and my enjoyment. not the fishs. anyways moving on what big monsters can i keep in a 180 gallon or around tank? .. i could get snakeheads but lost interest in them a little while ago so.

My pacu got 22" in 7 years. And RTC and TSN grow twice as fast.

Wow... I took in 5 Pacu at 3" and in less than 18 months in a 300 Gal they were all between 22~27"...

Save the really big pigs for until you are out on your own. Lot of nice biggins can fit easily in a 100. Not a lot at once, but you have options. 80 bucks sounds like an awesome deal.

He wasn't kept in the best conditions back then.
If I knew what I know now I wouldn't of bought him.
But whatever makes you look better.

save up... it is the best way to go...
