can't wait to see Ian McCall fight in the UFC! (march 3 on FX vs mighty mouse).

I have caught mabe 2 or 3 UFC fights ever, don't follow it at all, so bear with me while I ask a newbie question. I saw something over the holiday that showed Anderson Silva being trained by Steven Seagal. How involved is Steven Seagal with UFC fighting?

I wasn't aware that he was at all.He does practice Aikido though and was said to have once had his own dojo in Japan....now that's badass lol.I suspect the thing with Silva was some chance meeting or a photo op.

that guy has a funny nickname. "Uncle Creepy," I never seen him fight, just highlights but he seems to be pretty scrappy. that should be a good fight.

btw, i don't know if i'd trust anyone to "fix" my broken nose, lol

it's funny, the whole thing with seagal. at first it seemed like a joke to everyone that anderson and those guys would even be associated with seagal. but anderson has given seagal credit for the kick he landed on vitor. he has referred to seagal as "master seagal" also. seagal himself doesn't claim to have invented the kick, but he said he modified and tweeked it. and then machida has also trained with seagal, then BOOM, randy couture eats a kick from machida and loses a tooth.

so i don't know. it's hard for me to take seagal too seriously though for some reason. he puts up a front like he's some serious zen master. but i seen a video clip of him laughing and smiling and then all of a sudden when he realized there was a camera, he put on his zen master face and starting acting like a 80 year old kung fu bushido master again.

i don't think they've trained with seagal too recently, but i know for a fact he has trained with them. there is a video of him teaching machida some stuff. but he is not involved in the ufc or really part of anderson and machida's camp. they've just asked him for help with a couple of training camps as far as i know

That's exactly what I was wondering, The thing I saw on tv showed a lot of his teaching time, I kind of forgot about how much time he has put into Aikido, teaching in Japanese at one point. He really is a badass, he did seem to show a lot of interest in Silva.

man, seagal is a big dude, those clips of him showing anderson and machida techniques, he looks huge compared to them

I just got finished watching the clip with Josh Barnett fixing the guy's nose and a few thoughts came to mind.....Interesting how a reporter and cameraman just happened to be on hand for the procedure. As if picking an ink pen up from the floor and pushing it up the guy's nostril wasn't bad enough, after working on the nose Josh says,"alright, now here's the thing"....I wonder if they will continue to use those ink pens, for their intended purpose or otherwise?
