Marcus Davis and Brandon Vera released by the UFC.

yea, feel bad for both of them but hey, it's gonna happen when you go like 1-5 or something like that. it sucks for Davis because he's always in a good fight. but vera has been a huge disappointment, i'm surprized they didnt' let him go sooner

and McKee got cut too after losing his debut. but i think it's due to the tons of crap he was talking to get signed.

why would they put all the big fights on one side and risk a lame finals round.
It's going to be Barnett from that side for sure, but still there should be some others on that side.

Just heard a rumor that Strikeforce wants to feed Bobby Lashley to Fedor.
that's just stupid on so many levels

major bummer. I couldn't believe he lost. I thought for sure he was going to make a title run. Wish he wouldn't have waited until his 40's to go to the UFC.

he'd be my pick too if i had to pick one.

but who knows, i think it will be him, Sergei or AA

Next season of TUF is Brock vs. Junior Dos Santos.

I understand why they are doing this, it will get massive ratings, but it is a tough sell to "real" mma fans, who know Brock should be training, not coaching right now.

The good news is, it will be more pub for JDS, who deserves it, and will make the Cain/JDS fight even bigger when it happens.

yea, read this yesterday. i'm iffy about it too, like if i was one of the casts on the show, i wouldn't want to be on brock's team. he's only been in mma for 3 years or something like that, i don't care what dana says, but he dont' have the credentials to coach. i bet most of the cast is more qualified

and what if he beats jds? i really don't wanna see brock rematch cain atm. i don't think he deserves a rematch this quickly because of the way he lost. he needs to have like 3 solid wins first. stylistically, this may be a bad matchup for jds, although he'd be my pick, we've never seen jds against someone who can put him on his back. for sure though, the longer the fight goes, the better for jds, i think brock doesn't have a huge gas tank

but like you said, it will sell and jds will get exposure

according to sherdog, Jon Jones s getting a title shot against shogun. Let me first say, i'm a huge fan of both, BUT shouldn't Jones fight 1 or 2 top tier fighters in the LHW division before getting a title shot? Than again, its probably about ticket sales...... some of the names what come to mind is

Rashad Evan (currently out with a knee injury)
Quinton Jackson
Lyoto Machida
Forest Griffin
Thiago Silva
Randy Couture

I believe that too...Rampage would be my choice, but I think he can beat Rua if he has the correct game plan.

He's getting the shot because Rashad had to pull out of the fight w/ Rua.

i'm ok with bones getting the title shot

1. rashad pulled out basically last minute (although it's 6 weeks out but still there's no time to setup a #1 contender without further shelfing the champ)

2. there's a lot of hype around jon jones right about now so it's like you said, it's all about the chedda $$$, this one will be a huge, huge sale. if it were me, i'd do the 24/7 type show for 4 weeks leading up to this bout

3. there's no one else that is as deserving as jones since everyone else at the top of that division has had recent losses

4. they've had lesser people that's way less deserving fight for the title in the past
