Still can't get over how Reem made Lesnar look like a jobber in their match, great clip though and can't wait for the fight.

lesnar was a huge underdog for me in that fight. reem just had zero respect for lesnars striking and would just walk right up to him to grab him and throw knees.

his game plan and even his fighting stance will be completely different against junior. i'd love for reem to become the new ufc champ. i've always liked him even when he was a lower level light heavyweight. but i'm also a big fan of junior and was extremely happy for him to get the belt. so i'm a little torn on this fight. i just wanna see a great fight. i'd be happy with either guy winning.

here's my prediction though, on that night, mir is fighting cain, i predict cain will get a first round knock out, maybe second round. mir has an uncanny ability to get the crap beat out of him if he can't submit his opponents

then i predict a stoppage in the main event, if i predict with no bias, i'd have to give the cardio edge to junior, both guys have power, we've seen junior take big shots but never seen him get hurt, rocked or put on his back to see how he will do when he's in trouble. but we've seen reem get knocked out and we've seen him fold when he is in trouble. but in the end, my money's on junior. lighter, faster, great cardio and dynamite in both hands. reem would have to control the pace, bully the smaller champ and stop him within 2-3 rounds. anything passed that, i think he'll be running on fumes and eventually stopped by ko/tko

then cain will get his rematch with junior

That's a good breakdown Sumo.

I'm leaning towards Reem. He has the experience, strength, and the larger arsenal of strikes. When Reem and JDS tie up JDS will be in big trouble. Reem's cardio will always be in question, and there's no question JDS has the speed and cardio advantage. Both guys have one punch KO power, and both are pretty accurate. I think if JDS comes out to box as usual, he will be too predictable for Reem. I'd also give Reem the advantage on the ground since he's competed in ADCC (won the euro trials I believe) and we haven't seen JDS on the mat (I'm sure JDS is good on the ground training under the Nog's).

I like both fighters too, so I'm happy with whoever wins, as long as it's a good fight.

yea you can make an argument for either guy to win.

reem is a more accomplished and decorated pure striker. his background is more extensive and he has way more experience. but this is mma and junior is at the top of the food chain too so it's a hard call.

overeem has been undefeated in mma since his move to hw and seems unstoppable to me up until his last fight with werdum where i feel he was painfully exposed to have a weak cardio. he MUST come in shape to go five rounds if he wants to topple the ufc champ. like i said, he has to bully the champ, pace himself and control the ring, work the clinches and be careful not to get caught. junior has ko power in both hands and he's a great offensive as well as defensive striker. i'm worried for reem because of juniors overhand right. he may get caught throwing a low kick or knee like cain did with that overhand bomb

My biggest fear is the Ubereem will be too cautious and it will make for a boring fight. I like JDS and all, but I can't not root for Overeem. This is probably the fight I've been looking forward to most this year. This and McCall/Johnson 2 (Uncle Creepy is not only maybe the best nickname in MMA, but he is also one of my favorite fighters). I think 'Reem has the better stand-up (maybe not MMA though, but pure for sure) and ground game, but it's hard to tell from Junior's lack of ground experience in fights. Junior isn't anywhere near as experienced, either. I usually like the ground side of MMA better than stand-up, but I'm hoping for stand-up in this fight.

As am I Sonen was on the Spike MMA show last Thursday hyping the fight.

Should be a great fight. The brazilian crowd will be going crazy. I'm picking Silva via sub again.

On a side note; has anyone seen 'Like Water' the A. Silva documentary?

I'm hoping to see another one of those high kicks like the one Silva used to dispatch his last oponent. It would take nothing less to shut Sonen's mouth...

That would be awesome. Chaels' got a solid chin and poor sub defense which is why I picked sub. But, ya, highlight reel KO would be nice, especially after all the talking Sonnen does.
