Such a bad idea. Prestine water quality and a quality pellet fed moderately is all you need. Genetics will take it from there.

Frozen isn't going to be as a nutritious as a quality pellet and will just jack up your water.

right now I'm feeding what was recommended by the lfs sinking hikari wafer pellets he destroys them what would you guys recommend?

I don't know if it is the healthiest - I feed my fish NLS + treats. But my fish devour and grow the fastest on Omega One Shrimp Pellets. Their absolute favorite food (don't feed hardly ever due to high fat content) is the meal worms I find in the bird food section.

Feed everything.... Imo. Fish eat anything they can in the wild. So I like a varied diet for my fish also. I feed a main pellet staple. But also, earthworms, mealworms, garlic, spinach, lettuce, krill, tilapia, etc. In moderation this is the best way to go. I like to do 5 days pellets and 2 days other stuff. This also gives the fish a couple days to get rid of the processed crap out of their system.

Well I enjoyed this very much as we just got a few convicts. We were only wanting a pair to start off with and ended up with about 20 of them ranging from .5 to the big male 4-5 inches
Right now they are all in a 29 gallon tank (the 55 is still being cycled another week) I’ll post some pics and I hope that they are clear enough that you can tell me if they are a true convict from the lack of color in their strips
