Don't get me started, my mom gets very mad at me if I continue talking about fish, and to where to the point that she swore a lot at me. And at school, once when the class found out I like to draw fish thing and this guy was like " HAHAHA! YOU LIKE FISH!" Then I answered, " Well, it's better then sitting in front of TV and Football, and drugs idiot." But, I don't care if people laugh at me for my hobby, as it's fun and rewarding. I spend more time talking about fish then I do anything else.

i try to strike up conversation with anyone about my tanks, im lucky i met two girls that are now close freinds just go to diffrent schools that understand then theres this one girl thats like what u r going to the petstore agin im like f##k ya but shes a freind just dosnt know the honor of fish keeping if i had a choice of a million dollars of a giant @ss tank i probly take the million and buy a bunch of giant @ss tanks

Yep i get that a lot " why have a fish they are ugly and boring, dogs are so much cooler..."

One of my friend said .. one day if i was'nt home then he would throw my fish on the pan and have it for dinner while sipping on wine.
I told him.... i'll throw you on the pan to fry and then just throw you away.
And then i'll have a glass of wine!

lol, my mum is pretty cool with me and my fish, but as long as the tanks arent in any other room of the house apart from my bedroom haha.
And now since its christmas, we are meeting family...and i cant stop talking about fish as usual, and she starts telling everyone how i talk non stop about fish...which i think is cool because all my family know me as the fish guy, even relatives who are visiting from over seas knew about the obsession before i met them haha!

O man, too many of these stories for me.
I tend to show people my big tank in the basment first. If they seem interested then I show them the tanks in my bedroom with the more common stuff. So many things people have said to me. Heres one conversation with my grandma-
Her- "your stingrays are so ugly! Why dont you get some nice small pretty fish?"
Me- "Um, their not ugly"
Her- "Yes they are, dont you think so?"
Me- "obviusly not, seeing as I payed over $300 for all the rays in here"
Her- "You wasted all that money on such ugly fish?"
At that point I just walked away. Everytime my grandad sees them he gives me warnings about their spines. He keeps telling me about people getting stung in their feet by stepping on them. Just out of respect for my mom I dont just totally go off and be an ass back to him.
Most people who dont say compleatly stupid stuff I can tolerate. I just dont tell them the prices for the fish. I try to ignore it I guess. A buch of people the rays impress, its all worth it in the end.
