Most frustrating thing about your job.

cleaning up other peoples at works mess. having to get past the whining complaint to find out what the actual problem was in the first place so i can put right what my fellow co worker did wrong.

Clueless management! :screwy::screwy::screwy:

Well, I have a couple part time jobs right now.

One is manning a desk in the residence hall I live in at my school for a few hours a week. The job has basically 0 responsibilities (I allow people to check out games, athletic equipment, etc). I can't really complain too much about getting paid to do almost nothing, but it's incredibly boring.

The other, I work in a pet store. I'm not a huge people person, so I wasn't too sure how much I'd like a sales job, but I needed the job and I knew the manager would hire me, so I took it. I actually ended up really liking the sales aspect of the job, save dealing with the occasional rude, obnoxious customers. The job is also only minimum wage, and I really need more money than that since I'm in college, but I get by. The store I work for is part of a small chain, and I'm really not a fan of corporate. I'm not sure if they're aware how condescending they come off whenever they talk to pretty much any lower employee, but I think I'd be less offended if they just straight told us how stupid they seem to think we are. If I wasn't so busy with school, I could easily work there full time and move up in the company, but I'd rather be jobless. I love working there with the people in the store, but would never want to move up into a position that required frequently dealing with the higher-ups.

my main pet peeve is 2 fold

when my staff can not understand that the order of ingredients for a item must be followed and they dont understand reversing ingredients severly messes up the food

my greatest peeve is this when staff does not realize that portioning has to be the same all the time. last night when I was the only one here I go to make someones chicken wrap and as soon as I picked up the bag I knew it's over weight.

So I remeasured them all and reportioned the whole lot, end result 4 portions gained.

Had to explain to the kitchen today that what happens when someone comes and gets a portion that is 1.75 oz over the usual 2 oz for the protein what do they think when they get the real item at 2 oz when their last one was 3.75 oz. And what of the 4 extra portions I gained that make up her paycheck for 2 hours of the day

Being made redundant when we have never been busier

There are many things that i don't like about my job, ranging from customers to jerks on the road. (I drive a lot for work)

But the biggest pain in my rear would be me asking for a raise and being told no, he can't afford it. Then the very next day, my boss shows up to work with another new car that he bought entirely on impulse.

Seriously, this is what my boss owns for vehicles:
2006 Porsche 911 Turbo
2009 Subaru STi
2004 Toyota Landcruiser
2002 Toyota Tundra
2009 Toyota Tundra (yes, he has two tundra's)
2009 Ducati monster 1100 (He gave is 2008 Monster to his son)
1954 Oval Window Beetle (fully built engine, it's badass, 400bhp or so)
1967 Mini Cooper x3 (yup, 3 of them. two built for racing, one is completely stock)
A Custom Harley, a guy I work with built it for him, cost somewhere around $80k.
12 or so YZF50's. Yes, 12 little 50cc sportbikes.
The other day he said he wanted a Smart Car.

Funny part, he drives the STi or the new Tundra daily. The Porsche only comes out in the summer (obviously). I rarely see the old Tundra or the Landcruiser. I've only seen him drive the stock Mini once, the two built for racing have never been raced. I've seen him ride the Ducati a few times, I've only ever seen the Harley once. As far as I know, the Beetle hasn't been driven in years. He takes the little YZF50's out once a week with his friends in the summer.
Just this year, he bought two cars, one motorcycle, spent two weeks in Vegas, the entire month of January was spent in Panama, a few weeks in California. He has also bought two houses. But he can't "afford" to give me a raise.

^ well your boss certainly has it good!

I wonder what his complaint would be.... choosing what car to drive in that day?

So much death in my line of work, it gets depressing some times.

I try to make up for it by rescuing struggling fish from LFS and nursing it back to a livelier state and then giving them away to friends and family. Sometimes they don't appear to be recovering and I end up euthanizing them and get more depressed. :nilly:
