I have to say:
Catfish: RTC are beautiful cats, the gulper can take one hell of a bite
But i have to say a single fish that makes everyone, (fishkeepers or not, experienced or novice, young and old)...the electric eel. its size, gracefulness and mysterious nature makes it an all time favorite for me. not to mention its eating techniques. E-eel is next on my to buy list.

call brian at ocean blue e-eel and he ships:)

OMG that fish is hideous!! :barf:

lol

For me any big fish is impressive to me. Ultimatly impressive to me is the Whale Shark. Hope to make it to ACA in GA this year and head to the GA aquarium to take a look.

Napoleon wrasse, Gigas, other large fish are always impressive too.

Edit: Missed we're talking about home aquarium.. sorry,,

if you can find one (and good luck on this) I think that a large tigrinus takes the cake. I love rtc's and tsn's and all big cats really, bu this is my holy grail of catfish and I only wish I could find on for sale.

big dovis
big umbees
large albino channel cats (non fishkeepers love them)

Arowanas, stingrays, electric eel, trouts IMO.

People always seem to be impressed by hobbyists keeping trouts in their aquarium.

that is a gorgeous aro.
I like the fact they can be kept with atf's and cichla. I think that might be my next project, a mixed tank with 1 aro, 1 atf, 1 p bass and a catfish. Thats a perfect mix of size, teeth and power. Just a shame my rhom cant inhabit the same tank aswell.

im quite surprised a rhom hasnt been mentioned once in this thread. I think large specimens look "ridiculous" <- in a good way
....but then im gonna say that coz i own one...lol
