lol... thanks mate!
i would have to agree with you on that one. :D

electric eels are sweet.

basically anything that the average joe would know about (piranha, shark, eel, etc.) usually will get a few "ooohs" and "aawws"

I think impressive when i think "arowana"...a monster so sleek and smooth and huge mouth and sharp eyes and scales that glissen with color but my other favorite impressive fish is my clown knife.. and the bigger he gets the more impressive and beautiful he is.. smooth as silk swimmer and elegant and monster...i must say those are my most impressive fish.. but also a beautiful african cichlid that grows to 10 inches and speckled with the colors of the rainbow is a very impressive fish...just not monster.

Gulper cats

I think that my Fahaka is the fish that most people remember after seeing my tanks... people are always impressed after a large Cray is thrown in the tank...

When i say impressive, i mean size, aggressiveness, teeth etc.. and all the other elements that we all love about our monster fish.

With that criteria I would have to say both Umbee & Dovii cichlids take the cake for me.

Really, anything large and responsive to people will fit this bill.

When it comes to impressing non-fishkeepers, I think the arowana takes the cake since it is unlike any fish that these people have seen before.

When it comes to impressing fishkeepers, especially us MFKers, it gets much more difficult to narrow down. But I would say that the following all fit the bill:

GATF
Armatus
Large black rhoms
Fahaka puffers
Umbie
Dovii
Large ST dats
Giant endli and congicus bichirs
Large pbass

This list could be never ending. But for me, the most impressive fish is a large ST. When I watch JohnPTCs webcam, the first fish that catches my eye is his large ST that is always hanging around the front windows.
