i dont know if i should get reds yellows caribes or any other type
i want the most vicious bloodthirsty killers
please help

if you want vicious bloodthirsty fish, piranha aren't for you

There is a great deal of misconseption about piranha (pygocentrus and Serralamus) that you have obviously been brought into (aswell as most of the Non fish keeping public) you believe that they are all blood thirsty killers. Unfortunatly many keepers later find out that piranha's don't all live up to there killer name and history. Most people will buy juvi RBP (red bellies) (pygo nattereri) only to find they are VERY skittish and "Sissy" when introduced to there aquariums.

Some p's grow out of this "sissyness" as the grow larger, but many don't.
You may get these "agggrsive piranha's" or "glassbangers", you also may get the very common skittish juvi's".

From what i've read and experience with p's. Caribe would be a good bet for a not so skittish p (not all). But these are known to be great Shoal hunting fish.

If you want non skittish p's - Caribe is a good choice, but it truly depends on the individual fish.

You can do many things to help them not be skittish ie: make tank as natural as possible, no excessive lighting, good water param, etc etc,. This will do WONDERS in making a fish not skittish.

As noted before though too, if the reason for getting piranha is for a blood thirsty fish - you have the wrong species.

agreed
i dont see how they got this reputation for being killers when i used to have some that where scared of goldfish
but if u wanted an aggresive one i would go with some kinda rhomb
mabey a 10 inch black rhomb
or an elong

Well put XR...People don't understand that P's are actually scavengers and not bloodthirsty hunters that people make them out to be. I've seen some ignorant people throw feeders in a tank and start yelling at the fish (like that's going to help) when they don't get the fish being ripped apart show they want.
Many documentaries state that P's in the wild don't even eat healthy fish only the sick and dying ones. So as stated by everyone else if your looking for the mythical eating/killing machine a P would be a bad choice. If you do start a shoal then go with caribe they're in season this time of year.

black piranhas are pretty nasty when they get big!!

I would only add one thing. If a pirahna smells blood, its a nasty critter. :D
