I have raised show birds and dogs. I understand how judging works, up until 2 years ago I was a certified poultry judge. Now, can someone direct me to a book of standards for flowerhorns?

Sorry for hijacking. I was just wondering what exactly constitutes a high grade fish.

Usually the ones on here, who like to insult other people's fishes, fallow a fish bible.I don't care if people degrade my fishes, cause I don't find anyone elses fish better than mine anyways, because I feel I made great purchases on my fishes.I rather treat everyone's fish equal, since majority of the time every ones fish has a unique personality or colors on this forum.

Try not to get your panties in a knot yeah? No ones insulting anyones fish.

My comment must of been offensive to you then.

Not at all lol. You don't understand it when someone says "low grade". Its not meant to be an insult(but many such as yourself will take it as one).

The only reason why you think its a "low grade"is,because you feel that he has to pay out of his ass just for a different color flowerhorn. So I don't understand where you think I am finding it a insult,I just said whatever is on my mind, like everyone else does on this forum. The thing I find most ridiculous is when fools think Oscars and Blood Parrots are "low grade".I could be saying the same thing about any ones fish on this forum, just to be ignorant.

:ROFL:Never said anything about having to shell out a arm and a leg for a decent Flowerhorn. As for the Oscar and Blood parrot thing, its a joke that was directed towards Oscarum monstruoso. But, Most Oscars you find in fish stores are low grade.

low grade in what respect man? I have been scouring the web for an official competition standard for several specie of fish and I have come up empty handed.

Hey Jimmy,

Just so there's no further misunderstandings, or potential hurt feelings on your part. When you ask a question on this site be prepared for honest opinions, which is all Water et all have been giving. Your fish is not a MP, nor will it most likely ever be. In the world of FH's, it is as others have stated what would be considered a low grade ZZ. Nothing wrong with that, just giving an honest opinion.

Would some of you prefer that everyone BS Jimmy and tell him that his fish is indeed MP quality, when clearly it is not? How is that helping the OP learn about this portion of the hobby? Jimmy clearly asked about the potential of his fish, and the cold hard truth is it doesn't have a whole lot of potential, at least not as far as MP goes.

There is really no debate for this fish its on the lower end of the totem pole, bottom line is that If you post a fish and expect any feedback it can and will be both positive and negative.... We definately dont want people going around breeding and selling or giving away fry as bred from a "master piece" when indeed that is not the case...I would rate as a 2-3 out of a 1-10 scale honest opinion no insult intended...It look's way too much like a trimac to be even a 5 or above imo..
