My 125g Stand and Canopy

Will do. I have to pull the tank back off the stand and move the stand a bit so I can get the last side done. Then I can finally fill the holes and put the final clear coat on. I'm probably going to install a piano hinge on the canopy, but it's undecided as of now.

unbelievable work man. I recently got a 125 in a trade and it came with a metal stand that I am less than thrilled with so I found this thread looking for some good ideas on a stand. I will most certainly be using this thread as a template for my designs (minus the jerk friend). Thank you for taking the time to post.
 
Thanks for the compliments. Like I said, he's the true woodworker, I just designed and helped. If I had all the tools, I could have done this easily though. If you need any advice, just ask. I'll answer any questions you have about how I built it. :)

The wife agreed to another tank as long as she gets to pick the stock. She's thinking about making it a salt water tank. I still have one side of the stand and the doors to strip. Then it's finally time to get this tank going! Here's a pic of the new tank. :)

I'm working on attaching small fake plants to my driftwood today. I should have this thing up and going within the next few days! I still have to re-clear the doors, but they're obviously not very important during the setup process.

So I did end up hot gluing everything. This tank has ended up with an unintended Asian look, so I figure I'll just go with it and pick up some artificial bamboo leaves tomorrow. Tonight I'll just finish putting the rocks and wood in, but tomorrow I'll have pics. I can't wait to get this thing fired up!
