haha sorry sorry. we have to keep this thread alive somehow between your updates :D
and ps we want pics of everythin!

Lol its all good, I don't mind honestly. Just wanted to give ya a hard time. Been soaking the cork a lot lately should be piecing some of the pieces together tonight (hopefully) and of course pics of whatever I do get accomplished, even if its just some wood in a bathtub of dirty water lol

Good news! I got a lot done so should have a big update coming soon. But tired now and calling it a night so will update with pics in the morning, I know teaser lol
:banhim:

Alright, so we finally have somewhat of a tree. This is not the final look of it, I will be doing more finalizing on the details to get it right. Basically all we did was put the tubes on each end, then looked at the size of the crack to fill on each side and slid the longest pieces we had behind them and they turned out to look like imperfections in the tree, which all trees have naturally anyway. I still want to do more work on quite a few things, and nothing that is in the tank now is "mounted" by silicone, zip ties, or anything. So everything that has been done can be changed, but I like the progress so far and I think a few more days being spent inside the tank and I can have a legitimate tree!:headbang2:popcorn::nilly:

Pic 1-everyone has kid in tank pics, well i don't have a kid so my friends dog should do just fine lol
Pic 2- wood soaking in the tub, I was pouring boiling water over it so it didn't take long for the water to turn brown
Pic 3- on of the tubes goes on the end
Pic 4- 2nd tube on and close up of the crack to fill
Pic 5 & 6- pieces slid behind the two tubes to fill the crack, one has more light than the other because I was hoping the camera would show the way the texture of the wood creates shadows, didnt turn out the way i wanted but i think you get the idea

Last pic-my biggest problem right now, view from one of the ends of the tank, one of the tubes has a couple spots that make one side poke out and won't allow much swimming room for the fish BIG PROBLEM!

So like I said nothing is finalized and I plan on doing some more on it but I can already picture it with sand around the bottom a few plants and my silver arowana swimming around the top, Could pass for the flood basin of the amazon to me!

Please post your feedback and sorry for the huge post

Sorry for the low quality photos. I never claimed to be a photographer. I was using my cell phone but thats not really a great excuse either. My phone is the droid incredible, 8.0 Megapixel camera built in so must be the user lol

thats lookin good man! seems like the cork is takin up alot of space tho :/

exactly, I am considering pulling the pieces back out and grinding the inside of the bark down a little and seeing how much that helps, but the pics from one end I will more than likely end up doing some cutting and putting in another piece to replace it, it is bent so that it pokes out and I just dont like it

What are you thinking of doing to fix it? Shape the bark?

grinding down the back of the bark will help thin out the pieces a little, and the more than likely be doing a little cutting here and there, but like i said none of this is fastened down so if I want to completely re-do something I still have that option

What about using some fake vines or moss or something and running down the crack a lil ways? This is a just a lil extra piece of mind to make this thing look as natural as possible and the way it sits now is a very rough draft. But feel free to post up any ideas you may have I am open to all suggestions. I want this thing to look professionally done, and right.now it looks way to home made lol
