My 900 gallon 4 tank system will start being built next week.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Ty.. Just glad to be over the heavy lifting stage. Just got done adding the sand to the two upper tanks. Ended up going with 400lbs of argonite sand. Will use the existing sand for the lower tanks when I get ready to move everything over.

Tank sizes are 150 (left) & 250 (Right), the sump is a 110 which runs a little over half full at normal operational stand and an inch from the top when the pumps are turned off.

I opted to not use check valves as I dont like to have too many mechanical devices in the system. Just more stuff to fail.

wait so the top right tank is 250 or the whole right side.btw mad tank setup im not a big fan of several systems in the one room on the one wall mainly because there is too much going on at once. also i have to say you have patience and are doing this very well for even waiting till u get everything and your prep is great.

Yeah the top right tank is 250 and the lower right tank is also 250. And thanks.

New sand is in upper two tanks so the water is all cloudy at this time. I will be adding teh salt to the tank and get the salinity up to 1.021 this week. After that if the PH is around 8 and I get my skimmer back online then I can start to move the rock and sand, then lastly the critters. So it's all up to the skimmer basically.

I have a few small mods to make to the skimmer, if they don't work then a new pump needs to be ordered. If the new pump fails to make the skimmer functional then I will need to buy a new skimmer prior to moving anything over to the new system. So best case scenario I will have more updates this weekend. Worst case scenario is 2 weeks until an update.
