My cichlids

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Very jealous over the istlanum, a fish very much on my hit list.
thanks, always has been one of my favorite species. Have had a few over the years, lost a very nice one last year (not sure why) so wanted to grow out a young one to replace it.

I haven't owned one yet, only seen one decent sized male in person but that was enough. Only 18 months till I can get more tanks, not that I am counting down the days.

haha, nice, I am in the same boat. No more tanks for 18-24 months. But that will give this guy time to grow into his tank, will need an upgrade by that time I'm sure.

Here is my old green istlanum, was probably about 8" before I had to sell him when I went to college.

The one I have now, I think is the red morph, which I am excited about

Quick update on the istlanum. He's about 5" long now. Great personality already. He's the only cichlid I have left now other than the male panamensis (who killed the female sadly) which I have moved to a 45g planted tank at my parents house.

I need to start using my DSLR. I’ll be asking you questions on how to use it.

Thanks man! I am still a novice myself with the dslr, takes me 20 shots to get one decent one, but it is fun to play around with. And you've got some impressive fish to photograph. Let me know when you've got questions!
