just because you spent alot of money on wood doesnt make it better than cheaper wood. its all about how you design, build , finish, stain, etc... youd be amazed at what you can make with some 2x4s, plywood,and stain. good woodworkers can polish a turd and make it shine.

Sure you can buy a POS chipboard stand cheaper, but it looks like what it cost Someone with a bit of woodworking knowledge is assisting, so lets see what they come up with.

Hopefully it's something Non-Ugly

The 4x4 pine is probably overkill for that size tank, but it wont fail as long as it's put together right.

DIY is all about saving money. if its costing you more money to make a stand than to buy one for a 40g breeder your way over doing it. for 20-30$ you should be able to make a really nice wood stand(and canopy if wanted) better than any storebought stand.

theres a option on photobucket to auto resize the pictures for you. Next time you upload at photobucke go into options and save your preferences to make your images smaller for forums!
