Only thing i really gathered from making this is make sure you make the gelatin right. Dissolve all the satches you are using in cool water and THEN pour the boiling water over the dissolved gelatin. If you dump the gelatin satchets into boiling water, they congeil right away and don't really dissolve into it very well.
i had that problem as well

Every other fish loved it, even my 10" Senegal LOVED it. In fact, i don't think i gave them enough, they are still all looking for some more.

If i had to do it again, i'd probably leave the bloodworms out since they don't all liquidize and therefore don't bond completely, and i also would have make the flats a little bit thicker, it seems to be too thin at the opening.

my bichir loves it too! yeah mine was pretty thin too, while it was freezing it ran to the sides of the bag, so the middle is really thin and the sides are super thick.

ive also made diy food and i cooked mine most on here said do not as it takes away some of the nutrients

very interesting! Would be a great way to keep healthy fish! To bad my freezer right now is only 2"x12" ha ha I wont be able to keep my Mac and Cheese!

idk about beefheart, but with livers you need to actually cook it or else it could have something harmfull to your fish in it, but with most other ingredients no cooking is needed, but i still like heating it slightly so the gelatin mixes better with it.

My fish are still LOVING the mix. Gone through almost 1/4 of a flat of this stuff. Next batch is going to be larger and the bags will be filled with more.

Another cool thing i've heard of being done is to put them in light diffuser or egg crate to make cubes of the stufff.

i got a quick question. if you have a carnivorous fish will it be bad to feed them this food with the vegis in it or would it be best to make two different sets of flats?

i have mostly carniverous fish, and mine has more veggies in it than his, and mine love it

veggies are fine for carnivores, although you may want to add a little more meat into the mix if you have only carnivores. If you have both, make it with some veggies too and your carnivores will be fine, i promise.

I think i might make another batch (this one is going pretty fast even though i still have 3 3/4 flats left lol) This time i'm making a 7 flat batch with tilapia instead of catfish and i might find some other foods my fishies might like.
