How does the flake work for a binder? Fall apart easily or does it stay together better?

To answer the next question, just depending on their diet add different things. Tanganyika cichlids are mostly herbivores correct? Then go with minimal meat and lots of veggies. You can pretty much do any food in this mix and it should be good.

It keeps it together nicely. Suppose it depends on what you are feeding it too. As the discus have small mouths they tend pick at it until it breaks up and then feast on it as it breaks up. My giant gourami on the other hand which is finishing off the other food, doesn't really give it a chance to break down.;)

Most Tanganyikans are carnivorous. The more fish protein the better. Many Discus breeders use the beef heart mix. I have seen a few studies that show while it does grow them out faster, it shortens their lives due to the high fat content. that is why i always stuck to the fish meats.

Good advise for the main Tanganyikans ingredient me thinks!

They all eat some plant matter, most of them are Omnivorous.

Tropheus moorii are very picky Herbivors. Too much protein will kill them.

And yes the Tropheus are from

I appreciate that certain things vary in different country to country, I've been advised of many products that are cheap and easy to obtain on here that in the USA and cost a fortune over here in the uk if available at all and shipping costs can out way the gain. Can you not import them as they weigh hardly anything so it should be a standard weight?

tonight i'm trying this..but i can really get when the geltain is added..
first you blend the ingridients includin the gelatin or how is it done..?
it's my first time doing gelatin.. =S
if you could make something better what would it be..?

i'm no really a good cooker..but my cereal is really great.. ;)

Good news, glad it all worked out for you in the end
