My DIY stand for 150 gallon tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Tank completely filled. The stickers were from my girlfriend for my birthday last year. She doesn't really like me having such a big tank in my little place, so I put those on there to make her feel like I still care about her. It's always difficult having your gf/wife keep tanks. Prior to buying the tank, I tried to have the "talk" with her. Her answer was, "you already have a small tank, so I don't want to hear it. The day she walked in when I have the tank delivered, she freaked out. She was quiet for an hour.

Here is the bottom right corner with the 15 gallon. The bottom left will be the future resting place of the new tank. The tank will be 36" long, 18" wide, and 14-15" tall. It will have to be custom made to fit my stand.

The floor mat that I put underneath the tank. It's about an inch thick. It came in a tatami pattern. I am now earthquake proof. There were 5-6 little quakes last year, and one this year. Feels like California.

The bottom tank residents. They are awaiting the new tank. I have 4 right now, and will have a total of 8 when the new tank arrives.

When these little guys pair off, I will be building a new stand. This one will stack 3-4 tanks. The tanks will be 30 gallon breeder tanks. I'm trying to make use of the little room I have here. Currently living in a studio about the size of a small 2 car garage. I have a bed, table, keyboard(I teach piano), tv, bathroom, closet(not built-in). So, it does get pretty cramped really quickly. I don't understand why they don't have built-in closets in Taiwan. It would save room.
