the tem had 4 feeders gone in 10 seconds after throwing them in. It's going to grow FAST. I just hope the others catch up and I don't have to separate them.

my boss is going to feed my fish. He's worked at hatcheries for a good number of years and has a little experience with home aquaria, too. I'm just worried that I'm going to have a problem with water quality or equipment failure...anything. I don't wanna lose my babies :(

the tem will very likely outgrow them.
they are much more aggressive feeders and grow the fastest.

Paul when you get back you may want to seperate the Tem from the others. And start hand feeding everyone. 1. So they will all get more comfortable with you. 2. You can make sure that there all getting some feeders. Hand feeding takes a lot of patience I know but it does help with the little ones not getting any feeders before the big guy takes them all down. Of cousre seperating them will help this problem. And I know for a fact you have empty tanks sitting around so this might be the best case scenerio.

If you don't feel comfortable about your boss keeping the little guys bring them over to the house tonight and I can put them in with my new little ones there about the same size and of course I will take good care of them.

I'm not sure what I'll do yet as far as separating them and everything. I'll probably give hand-feeding a try.

I may just take you up on that. I'll give you a call later should I decide to do so. Thanks for the offer.

Yea I would wait until you got back to seperate them if feeding becomes an issue. Becuase he is going to out eat them everytime. Kind of like the Creni they just seem to know when your going to throw food in the tank.

Give me a call man. I will be home after 6pm. I just need to go to my fathers house and borrow his lap top because I hate using the PS3 to post picture and communicate with. Excellent for browsing horriable for communicating and posting.

Dude that was not funny at all. I thought he became an ~Orino Snack~ Everybody ate this morning so were looking good. (And no your cichla weren't on the menu) but it was close though. I hope you have a safe trip. No need to worry about them there in good hands. I think we will have to call him Houdini cause I thought he was a gonner.:nilly:

I'm not worried at all. I'm sure they'll be at least 1/4" bigger when I get back :D

The tem grew 1/2" in the week that HCR was watching it. I lost another "ocellaris" so I only have one left, but it's doing pretty well. I couldn't get a pic of it as it was hiding. Anyway, here they are with their current tankmates. The ocel is going to have to be separated soon as the tem can soon eat it.
