My First Monster Tank. . . . .

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Thats a great size tank! Like everyone said the possibilities r endless, but I would probably do smth like this:
for the bottom BGK, fire eel, polys (and maybe even elephant nose fish, it might work with the bgk in a tank that big)
for the middle Dats, clown knife, maybe some vieja, flagtail and a school of pink tail chalceus ( ppl usually keep one but with a tank that big u can have a school of 6!!!)
for the top a couple of aros and maybe one gar.

Has anyone ever had luck keeping their Arowana with Flowerhorn or Buttikoferi? I've never kept Arowana and don't know how careful I should be with aggression.

sounds like you and i are in the same boat. same size tank and endless possibilities to stock it with. i have my substrate and drift wood in place, just waiting for that to sink. i have a small oscar in there now and am planning more SA cichlids and arowanas. then some pleco's and thinking about tiger shovel nose catfish.

i'll follow this to see what other suggest for you and that may give me more ideas....

good luck!!

All i am going to say is since its been in storage for a year, i would make sure to test all the seams still hold by maybe filling it up in a garden or something where if 500G of water spills its not big deal...

As for stocking ideas, i guess the sky is pretty much the limit...

Yeah, I need to do some furniture rearranging so I will be getting it either this weekend or the next. I'm definitely going to fill it with water outside to make sure everything is holding
