My First Monster Tank. . . . .

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Considering you have such a huge tank (congrats) Id think about levels, go for a sand base and stock the bottom with 2 leopardi ray's the middle with some peacock bass (The more you get the better their colors go which can be amazing) then for the top of the tank a type of arowana, id go for a chilli red jardini but they are expensive, if not get a pearl or banjar red. also get a black background and maybe a marine blue light along with a sun, this will bring the color's right out.

nice idea, but he's in texas, so no rays and no asian aros. Can I throw out a crazy suggestion: 60 albino African clawed frogs with led and/or blacklights. That would at least be unique, right?

I can't suggest it enough, CA/SA monster community... Look into the Vieja family, maybe a nice big Cyano / Carpintis Texas? Peacock bass, amphilophus citrinellus (midas), without a doubt there will never be a dull moment in that tank.

The new tank is in! It's got some fixing up to do. I'm also going to have to repaint the wood on the outside and the stand so that it will fit my room. Here are some pics, sorry they aren't the best, since it's in my garage I don't have much room to get a full tank shot.

What does it have as far as holes for the overflows? What was it used for before? I'm assuming based on the wood trim its glass not acrylic
