I don't think it's a case of "calming down the mob", you posted a thread on a very controversial subject that has been debated on many forums. People have posted their opinions, maybe on what they have heard, or maybe from first hand experience, but after all, they are entitled to those opinions. It seems to me that you are looking for a reaction from forum members on what you are doing, and you have got those reactions.
The juvenile nattereri is going to grow and it will most probably get picked on by some of the other fish. The clarias will, I know because I have seen it happen. When 2 cichlids fight over territories its just a case of, a bit of jaw locking and fin slapping. This does not work with something that has razor sharp teeth, and once a fish has no jaws its as good as dead. I would dearly love your experiment to work, but after keeping and breeding nattereri over the last 40 years, and trying to raise other fish with them in large aquariums, it hasn't worked, not long term any way.
I will be interested in how it works out, and I hope you will be honest, and post the results.
