my nan was like that. i had a 2 horses, a rabbit, 6 guinea pigs, 5 cats and a hamster.
all because my nan would buy them for me lol and keep them at hers.

Yes I would still wait to handle him. That acclimation period is important. And do get some weight on him. He should be eating as much as he wants every day. Make sure to gutload and coat your feeders in calcium dust.
 
At first glance it seems fine. Your original gecko looks like it's going to shed, so it could use some extra humidity in a hide. and both have a lot of fattening to do. Multivit and calcium. Got them both? If yes, start dusting. If no, go get some.
