Great job in keeping your gar so long.

I never got into gars till 2000. I got 6 in total, the first in 2000 and the other 5 in 2001. One died the others are all doing well.

In 196k lire

2000 Lepisosteus osseus. Still alive in 2015 and measured at 97cm in 2012.
2001 bought 1 Atractosteus spatula. Still alive in 2015 and measured 98cm in 2012.

In 56k litre till 2013 when divided into 3 sections. These are now in a 37k litre section.

2001 bought/acquired 2 Lepisosteus oculatus. Both are slow growers. Both are in 2015 doing well and measured 46cm in 2013.
2001 bought 2 Atractosteus tristoechus. Lost one 71cm long in 2011. It was killed by my Morulius chrysophekadion. The one still alive is only 61cm.

love that pic of the longnose and the , cubans and the gator gar. still hoping to get back into keeping longnose again some day

There is a glimpse of one of the Lepisosteus oculatus (florida gar) in the first pic with the O. goramy.

The A. spatula looks a little roughed up in some pics. That was when the Wallago leerii tried to eat her.

Nice arapaimag! Tank is wonderful, as always. Your thread is an inspiration. Hopefully that still means something after hearing it 10,000 times. It certainly should. I'll begin production of my diy project in early 2017. Already have the majority of the funds tucked neatly away. It won't be anything on that scale, of course ;p

Makes me feel good about the florida gar I just got, 5 inches... Hes in a 125 with a 6 inch poly and 4 inch pbass.

make me wish I got 3 or 4.

His new tank is slowly filling part way with RODI water. Then I'll use the water from the 180 for the remaining. Finished all the plumbing this evening, just have to move the 2nd pump over from the 180 and screw on the loc line nozzles.20150131_182920.jpg20150131_183026.jpg20150131_183026.jpg

Putting a black background on and a canopy. I have the rest of the stand front and trim to put up.
