My Florida Gar 11+ years.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Thinking about what to ad note that the 300 is up and running. I moved the gar, clown knife and Jack Dempsey from the 180 into their new home a few weeks ago.

I have 2 cichla kelberi bahia and 2 temensis (each@ 3") arriving on Saturday. I wouldn't mind a catfish of some kind but undecided on what. I loved when i owned a TSN, but don't know if I'll have the space. The tems might even get cramped. Also thought about other CA/SA cichlids..if they'll get along with the cichla. Considering a ray too.

The gar, ck and jd are enjoying the 300. The cichla are still growing in the 75...thinking of adding a tropical. But, i don't want to throw things off.

Thanks! You can see post 112 was before I added purigen, 113 is after i added purigen. Looks much more clear.

Great thread. Can't wait for many more years of updates.

Thank you.

I finally got my clown knife to eat non-live food. Although it is tilapia..My gar now goes crazy for tilapia. Loves it! He has also been getting massivore. I would like to add another gar, but trying to find one local. The tank will get a little crowded eventually, when the cichla are grown out in the 75. I'm going to build a canopy eventually, but I have to build one for my 125 saltwater first.

Beautiful! You could consider adding a Polypterus or two. They inhabit different layers, so no issues there.

Just some update pics. I need to get a water change in. But, no issues with anyone. Hard to believe I've owned him for 17 yrs.
