You can always build an indoor pond with plywood and ABS plastic.

You can build in a magnetic lid with a rubber seal around the edges, with the sump the only semi-exposed area of your tank. or you could just use a bubbler that feeds oxygen into the pump (some aquaclear pumps come with this feature) as the water is sent back into the pond. At least, that's what I am doing.

You can cover the indoor pond. It’s good to maintain humidity low and constant temperature.

Hmmm, interesting question. My rays pond have, more or less, 2000 gallons. Half is full of plants and the other half as lots of surface plants. I would say that for maintaining 4 adult rays I would need almost 2700 gallon. So you would need a sump with 1350 gallon full of plants . Complicated, eheheh. Lots of water and lots of plants.

I took some vacation days and was out of the country. But everything is ok. In the ray pond the water temperature is still very nice.

Here am I with some news. Not many because the cold and rain have arrived.

The water temperature in the outside ponds is around 8ºC/46ºF

In the greenhouse things are little better. The ponds are about 15ºC/59ºF, except those that are heated at 22°C/72F.
