we have nothing to do with war or immigration huh?

you sound like a bilderberg! or are you apart of the trilateral commission or council on foreign relations! nope, not it. your a rockerfeller tool huh!

Let's look at the bright side, at least you are seeing your tax dollars put to work. Granted, this isn't an effective allocation of resources (curse you microeconomics!@#!), but they are being put to use none the less!

I agree on the permit issue. This ban is to prevent the spread of non-native species. Obviously these animals are being traded in plain sight, so it isn't working all that well. At least if they required a permit the government could have SOME sort of regulation and make a penny off of it.

Where there's laws, they will be broken. No system is perfect, but they could get a lot closer than they are now.

He knew the risks he was taking when he started dealing in illegal species. I dont necessarily agree with the laws but you cant complain when you willfully violate them.
I wish him well though

I have to agree, I feel bad for the guy, but it's a risk that he decided to take, and it caught up with him.

really. what's the harm in piranha in NoCal? if released, they wouldn't survive one winter. FL, on the other hand...

I was talking to my LFS guy about piranha (I used to keep them when I lived in Tenn), he told me he knows people locally that order them off the internet. I'd make the 7 hour drive to Tenn, if I wanted some bad enough.

of course, if me as a private citizen ever got caught in posession of a piranha, I'd simply say that I bought a red belly pacu at petsmart in orlando. and stick to the story.

as a hoosier we dont have TOO many illiegels(fish anyways) and am guessing the people saying "he got what was comin to him" have never had to deal w/ not bieng able to get a fish they can PROPERLY care for, because someone else is like me. not to derail but reminds me of gun laws, and i'll keep mine in my trucks gun rack till they shoot it out of my hands! sorry bout that! but really should you have put this up here if you give 2 shakes about this fellas situation? ever heard the sayin " a friend will come bail you out of jail, a good friend will be sitting next to you sayin darn that was fun!"
