i like your fish. it is funny how fh people will give praise to fugly fish just because they have kok and badmouth a beautiful fish just because it does not. i voted that you got a good deal because your fish has alot of desirable traits even thought there is no kok. sometimes there are late bloomers and he could get some later. texas cichlids don't grow large nuchal humps and it takes a couple years for them to get the little humps they do get. your fish has lots of pearls so he may not be far down the line from the cross with the tex. he probably won't ever get a monster kok, but he will be beautiful either way. the most important thing is that you like your fish because he will be making you happy swimming around your tank for years if you do.

thanks! you know, since it was sold to me as a sick fish (the guy didn't tell me) and i think i may have cured him, i think this fish is even more special now. whether he grows a kok or not, i love him

He is slowly healing since he is eating, but you want to make sure that he is fully recovered.

Just like you; after you recoup from an illness you get hungry but you're not back to your normal self until you get some more rest. Maybe that's just me

his tankmate laid eggs...there's a divider between them...i took put the divider b ut they started lip-locking...the male's fins got ripped so i put the divider back...i tried switching the two, but the male started eating some of the eggs...so now they're back in the original setting, with the divider between them.

what's the proper thing to do?
