Ok so today I finally got my new baby in the house. I had like half the people I worked with and some family come over to help move this bad boy in. (and they were needed!)
It ended up fitting VERY VERY well into the basment. Alot better then I thought originally. (hope you all like the butt shot. NOT me)
the glass needs a good cleaning and I have ALOT of salt creep to clean. When we put the stand down and put a level on it is was PERFECT! I had to do no adjusting to the stand at all all 11+feet is level. I was really suprised.
The stand has two 18" doors on the one side. That is where all my filtration it going to have to go in the stand at. And as of now I still don't know exactly how I am going to set the flitration up. All I do know is I am going to use the one drilled 30gal. for a giant trickle box. That way I can have Plenty of bio filtration for anything I would want to put in the tank. Then the plan is to let the 30 drain into another tank that is drilled for two 1200gph pumps. I just hope that the one hole drilled into the 30 gal will drain fast enough to be able to keep water in the other tank housing the pumps. but with all the head loss in one pump b/c I have to run PVC from the sump to the far end of the tank I won't have all 2400GPH pumping out of the sump. This is all still up for debate.
Things I still need to do:
1.build a top
2.Hang a few shop lights (cheep and ez)
3.finish filtration
4.Paint bottom
5.Clean the damn thing (lol)
6. build DIY spraybar for water returns.
7. FIND SOMEONE WITH BIOBALLS FOR CHEEP!!!!!!
I think that I can have this done either before snow or after x-mas. I need all the money I can get for presents. My G/F is going to need something nice this year lol.
P.S. See the guy in the 5th picture.(top row of guys first from the right)
That's Ron the guy I bought the tank from. He works at Aquarium Adventure in Columbus. If you are ever in the area and stop in there ask for Ron to help you out he's a good guy. I know from now on he's my fish guy at Aquarium Adventure.
