My Oscars

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I just love the plants hanging all around the tank-that looks awesome. I'd be afraid of the Oscars jumping out though-that'd be my luck. But it sure looks nice!

HOLY PACU, BATMAN! Get that thing in a pond, man!

Great Oscars, though.

Thenx y'all, and I like the plants too, but I have cut them far back.
It was getting to heavy and could have came down.
Im also bit afraid one of the fish jumps out. I have a tiny Fahaka now,
and hes got a cover!
And my Pacu, African Butterflyfish, Bichirs, Crab and every
escape artist I dont mention has a cover on it.
But I find it so static. So kinda painting on the wall like.
I like to smell water, and see the fish from above.
So if its possible, I keep em open.

Now Im so well stocked on frozen food, I tend to overfeed the Bichirs.
My Ornate grows like crazy!
Tend to overfeed the Oscars too, with morios and a small kind of herring.
Fat fish, you gotta love it!
:D

Yea as Ive said I bit afraid too, but apart from the occasional splash,
Which scares the hell outa my cat, I cant stand missing this:

My Cat never jumps on any tank, but when hes outside, he absolutely
likes the rain. :screwy:Therefor hes my Black Jaguar.

And about the lights, the reflection on the underside of the leaves
of the plants which stand on top of the tank is sweet.
And I dont need to put on any light at night.

Ive been posting threads bout Turtles, Frogs, Tegu..
One almost would imagine I traded my fish for terrestrial critters.
To show Im still trying for ichtyologist, here some pics of my thriving O's:

Here the four Oscars together, though the smallest lies on the bottom, on the right,
pretending he's a leaf, to be able to hang out with the big ones:

merlijn en koei?
i recognized some dutch names here.
Hallo daar!
Good to see a fellow Hollander on the forum.
I am amazed at your set ups, and fish of course.
Very nice surprise after someone asked for a full tank shot.
You hit us hard, with all of your tanks and i like it!
Must be quite a job keeping up with the maintenance routine.
5 tanks is the limit for me at the moment.
Any pics of your puffers?

good save and AMAZING tank man! Probably one of the best Oscar tanks I have seen in a while. I just got a fahaka myself and I really hope you dont plan to keep him with your oscars b/c the O's will be toast once he gets to be a big guy.
